Cory is a big part of where I am and who I am as a person and a player. I have the opportunity to live my dream of playing division I soccer because of how much he helped me with my recruiting process and developing me as a player. He is everyones biggest supporter and is always looking out for everyones best interests. Cory is hard on me to this day because he knows what I am capable of and wants to help me be my best. I am so grateful to have had a coach like that. He is by far my most influential coach I have had in my all my years of playing soccer. I have also had the opportunity to train under Rhys Gully and his Explosive Performance program. Rhys has made me so much stronger physically and mentally, which helps me with my game so much. He is always looking out for me and is someone I can go to as well with any problems or advice I need. Even now, as I am going off to school, he keeps in touch and always wants to know how I am doing and how my lifting is going. Cory and Rhys are huge reasons why I am where I am to this day!!!

I first met Cory about 2 years ago when I joined FC Virginia’s Super Y summer league program. A rising junior, I was already in the midst of the college recruiting process so it was imperative that I keep my skills up throughout the off-season. Cory helped me achieve this and much more. He is dedicated and committed, someone who I could rely on to push me in the direction that I wanted to go. If I ever wanted to train 1-on-1, he would happily drive 45 minutes out of his way to meet me at a field closest to my own convenience at sometimes as early as 8 o’clock in the morning. That very drive and willingness to make me a better player is why I can always count on him. He’s supportive and most importantly, loves the game and his players, creating an environment that both pushes them and holds them accountable as serious athletes. He’s been a great coach and role model for myself over the past few years and I’m excited for him as he takes this next step to help so many others.

“Cory has been the most supportive coach through my ups and downs. He held me accountable for my mistakes and never let me belittle my skills. Without him, I wouldn’t be where I am today. He’s always one call away and never stops caring about every single one of his players. When I played for FCV, he rarely missed one of our games and talked to every college coach he could in order to open the door for us. He is very knowledgeable on the topic of college recruitment as he played in college along with being a partial coach for George Mason University a couple years ago. I remember my Junior year of high school I went to UMBC’s ID camp and as soon as it was finished Cory wanted me to call him. Him being such an influential person in my soccer career has allowed me to grow to the strong person I am today.”

“Cory was my soccer coach for 10 years, starting when I was 8 years old until I was 18 and going on to play college soccer at "Division 1 School". Not many people can say that they had only one coach their entire youth career, but I can. This happened because my family and I chose to play for Cory... because he was an outstanding coach, but because he was an even better person...Throughout my time with Cory as a coach, he not only developed my skills as a player but he instilled values of friendship, teamwork, work ethic, and confidence in me. He worked his ass off to instill values of friendship and family within our team environment and went out of his way on multiple occasions to set up team trips that weren’t just soccer tournaments but team building that was cherished by everyone. Not many coaches know the importance of relationships with team members and very few know the importance of healthy relationships between coaches and players. I still talk to him today to catch up and ask how he’s doing because I care and he is part of my second family. Cory is one of the most important people in my life and has been since I was 8 years old.
